Updates
0.9.0
20 September 2026
- Noise suppression: the app now takes wind, engine and traffic noise out of your voice before your partner hears it. It is on by itself, with a switch in Sound settings. On an iPhone it needs iOS 17.4 or newer.
- Fixed: pasting a playlist did nothing on an iPhone. A playlist now opens as a queue of its songs and plays the same way single links do.
- A YouTube Mix, Liked videos or a private playlist now tells you what it is and what to paste instead.
0.8.0
20 September 2026
- Starting a ride now shows an invite card: a QR code to scan with the other phone, the ride code in big letters, and a Send the link button.
- Opening an invite asks only for your seat and your name. The free seat is already picked.
- Each seat and each talk mode now says what it does, right on the button.
- Short confirmations appear at the bottom of the screen, and the screen lock warning has a bar of its own.
0.7.1
20 September 2026
- If your signal drops, your phone gets back on the ride faster, and it no longer needs our server to be reachable at that moment.
- Fixed: on a dead signal the app gave up reconnecting after half the tries it was meant to make.
Site
20 September 2026
- The home page now opens with what Xoundly is for: talking to your passenger without shouting, on the phones and earbuds you already own.
- New: a straight answer to "why not just buy an intercom?", including when you should.
- An 18 second ride on the home page: what a two-up ride sounds like without Xoundly, and with it. It waits for your tap, so it costs you no data until you want it.
- Xoundly is listed on App Builders PH. There is an upvote link in the bar.
- More of the page fits a phone screen: less padding between the parts, and the upvote stays reachable.
0.6.0
20 September 2026
- A calmer, friendlier look for the app and this site: light while you set up, dark while you ride, soft rounded type.
- Meet the helmet. It is the new face of Xoundly and the app icon.
- This site now shows real screens from the app, and the sound demo has controls for how far the music drops, how fast it comes back, and a karaoke mode.
0.5.0
19 September 2026
- New colours for the app. Dark while you ride so the screen stays cool and does not glare at night.
- Two helmets on the ride screen show the link at a glance: a teal line when your partner talks, a red one when you do, and a red dot while your mic is open.
- The big button now tells you its state by colour: yellow to talk, red while your mic is live, dark when muted.
- Xoundly now lives at app.getxoundly.com.
0.4.1
19 September 2026
- The app is now called Xoundly.
0.4.0
19 September 2026
- Karaoke mode: one singer at a time, echo on the singer's voice, and a singer timing control so the voice lands on the beat.
- Smoother music syncing: small drift is corrected by playing a touch faster or slower, with no cut in the sound.
0.3
19 September 2026
- YouTube music: paste a link, several links or a playlist, and both phones play it in step.
- iPhone: clear instruction to tap the video once, then it follows by itself.
- Fixed YouTube "Error 153" on iPhone.
0.2
19 September 2026
- Music that lowers itself when either person talks, with settings for how far and how fast.
0.1
19 September 2026
- First version: two-way voice, Open Mic and Hi-Fi talk modes, automatic reconnect, ride log.
